Supplying Baked Goods to Y Pot Blodyn for The National Botanic Garden of Wales

It's coming to the end of the season and things are winding down just a little. There's always a lull at this time of year after the craziness of summer, before it all picks up again for Christmas.

This has been my busiest year yet, with supplying Y Pot Blodyn at The National Botanical Gardens of Wales. It's been just over a year baking for them now, and it all started last summer when they were looking to sell local homemade cakes.

Since then I've baked a selection of sweet treats for them every week since, using only the best ingredients and keeping flavours seasonal. The customers definitely have chosen their favourites with the lemon drizzle being most popular – people ask about it even when it's not there.

Melting moments are also very popular and one of my favourites, buttery biscuits sandwiched together with vanilla buttercream and filled with raspberry conserve.

Coconut macaroons also go down well, to me they taste like the inside of a bounty, everyone always comments that they are just like the ones their mum used to make, I love that, nothing makes me more happy than people enjoying what I have made for them.

In 2015 I made it through to the last 50 in the last audition of The Great British Bake Off. Sadly I wasn't chosen for the programme but I need to carry on my journey as I can't imagine my life without baking.

I'd love to start writing my own recipes. So what better place to do it than starting a blog.
